  • Originated and edited “The Joker” which became “The Balcony” newsletters which raised money for Food for Britain at Box Hill High School in 1948.
 
1950s
  • Photographer for Box HillHigh School magazine “Highway” 1951.
  • Secretary Doncaster Camera Club.
  • Elected to Victorian Pharmacy Student Association  (VPSA) 1955.
  • Editor “The Scruple”
  • Co-opted as Vice-President National Union of Pharmacy Students of Australia.  (NUPSA)1955. NUPSA later became NAPSA- The National Association of Pharmacy Students of Australia.
  • Represented pharmacy at National Union of Australian University Students Congress (NUAUS) 1956.
  • Represented students at Pharmaceutical Association of Australia and New Zealand conference. (PAANZ).
  • Initiated and collated national survey of education standards in Australian pharmacy.
  • Organised a Radio Australia broadcast to Asia on behalf of NUPSA welcoming students on the Colombo plan to Australia.
  • Joined Pharmacy and Dispensary Employees’ Guild of Australia (PADEGA), convened a meeting of Shops Board No.6 which related to retail pharmacy wages and obtained equal pay for female pharmacists plus sick leave cumulative without limit in 1956.
  • Editor of “Pharmacy Student”- national annual magazine of NUPSA.
  • Appointed Camp Commandant NUPSA congress Kinglake 1957.
  • Opened pharmacy Bulleen 1957.
  • Secretary Bulleen Traders’ Association.
 
1960s
  • Opened pharmacy Doncaster 1960.
  • President Doncaster Traders’ Association and Doncaster Chamber of Commerce.
  • Elected as councillor of Shire of Doncaster and Templestowe in 1964,  1965, 1966 and 1967. Served as Chairman of Staff and Salaries Committee, By-Laws and Legislative Committee, Electricity Supply Committee and as Shire President.
  • Following 1965 bushfires, circulated all Victorian municipalities with a paper pointing out the need for State Disaster Planning followed by meetings with the Premier of Victoria.
  • Formed and was foundation chairman of the Yarra Valley Municipal Emergency Organisation- a grouping of councils in the Yarra Valley CFA 13th region for mutual assistance in time of natural disasters.
  • Chairman of Back to Doncaster Committee- part of celebrations of the proclamation of the City of Doncaster and Templestowe (now City of Manningham).
  • Charter Treasurer Lions Club of Doncaster then Third, Second and First Vice-President.
  • Foundation Chairman Australian Birthright.
 
1970s
  • Purchased pharmacy in Yarram 1971.
  • Elected to Yarram Waterworks Trust and appointed to Yarram and Port Albert Sewerage Authority. Chaired the Sewerage Authority and the Yarram Development Committee.
  • Was foundation president of Yarram Tarra Festival committee- its Easter festival.
  • President Yarram Tourist Development Association and Yarram Chamber of Commerce.
  • Served as Bulletin Editor, Second and First Vice President and President of Lions Club of Yarram. Served as Zone Chairman and Deputy District Governor of Lions District 201M.
  • Purchased pharmacy in Frankston 1978.
  • Lion Tamer and Vice President Lions Club of Mount Eliza.

1980s
  • Elected to committee of Ranelagh Club.
  • Served as Chairman of Juniors Committee, Chairman of Lots Committee, Commandant of Motor Boat Squadron, Vice President and two terms as President.
  • Charter Member of Frankston Lions Luncheon Club which became Frankston Lions Breakfast Club.
  • Director Henry Francis Chemists.
  • Developed a computer program for dispensing which was approved by the Federal Health Department. Also a system of supplying medication notes to patients and a drug interaction program.
 
1990s
  • Retired from Pharmacy 1994.
  • Established the Electronic Group for National Seniors Association which became the Electronic Zone 106 and I was appointed as Zone Chairman.
  • Established a web page for NSA.
  • Wrote “Bits and Bytes” column for NSA magazine “50 something”.
 
2000s
  • Developed an online electronic voting system for members of the Electronic Zone of National Seniors Association..
  • Appointed as co-chair of Victorian State Policy Council of COTA-National Seniors partnership and thus as member of its National Policy Council.
  • Represented COTA-National Seniors on the Australian Bankers’ Association Consultative Forum and the Victorian Medications Safety Committee.
  • Created seniorsissues.org and seniorsdiscussion.org web sites plus a Seniors Issues group and web page through MC2.
  • Assisted in creating the web presence for Mornington Peninsula Shire Council.
  • Created and maintained the web presence for Mornington Peninsula Community Connections.
  • Appointed as foundation member of the Elder Citizens’ Advisory Council for the Mornington Peninsula Shire Council. Elected as Vice-Chair. Created email list for members. (Advisory Council is now known as PACE ( Peninsula Advisory Committee for Elders)).
  • Established VEAT-Victorian Education, Ageing and Information Technology discussion group.
  • Hosted and moderated NEAT- Network for Education, Ageing and Technology.
  • Co-opted to Ranelagh Residents’ Association to maintain web site, set up email member group and computerize records.
  • 2011- resigned from all community activities because of health issues.
